How many remember Def Jam Vendetta, or Fight for New York, how about Icons? What if I were to tell you that once was a record label, with such a collection of household name superstars, that they could create an entire video game series using only their roster?
And not only that, but said games would wind up being some of the best games in history. The Def Jam fight game series was groundbreaking on so many levels, not to mention, it allowed you to play as your fav rapper and knuckle up on somebody in true tuff guy fashion that IRL they only rapped about. The first version was so popular that sold millions of copies and spawned a series of games in the same vane, doing bigger and bigger numbers.
Today, we'll try something new by talking about one of my fav classic video game series of all time, and discuss exactly why there will likely never be another one like it. I'm Nate the Great from Takeflight214.com and this is the history of Def Jam Fight Games : Hip Hop Brawlers that Defined a Generation
