Wavedash's Striking Similarity To Super Smash Bros.
Wavedash is a gaming publishing company out in Oakland, California that considers their goal to be having developing game development talent and people passion for animation.
In recent news, Wavedash is releasing a new game, Icons: Combat Arena, that seems similar in gameplay and content to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Players have the opportunity to compete against other characters in the game, but the only difference between the two is that it seems like Icons doesn’t have as many characters to choose from compared to Smash’s character spectrum.
The setup of certain levels is quite similar in both games where you have the flat bottom platform and separated secondary platforms that either float or connect to the background.
There are many other companies similar to Wavedeck that have created their own version of Super Smash Bros., but obviously, they’re not going to be as good as the original, nothing’s going to beat that. The beta testing will start fall of this year. It’s really up to you if you want to play a replica of the original, still, I really don’t see a problem expanding your horizons.
